  1. Hi, I can hear the door bell on the M741W intercom, and can hear the person at the front door talking, but the person cannot hear me talk back to them. Any ideas?

    1. The audio wire must be intact then.
I'm thinking that the issue is with
the speaker at the Door Station. You
may need to replace the Door Station.

  2. Hi there! We recently moved into a house with this product installed but it doesn't seem to work. The door bell doesn't make a chime nor does the control panel show any images. Is there a user manual available online? Any suggestions on what the issue/s might be with the unit? Thanks!

  3. Is the M741W Intercom Monitor able to have an extension installed so that a bell is heard in other area of the house other than were the monitor is located.

    1. There are no standard products that will you allow you to have this done! You tap into the piezo circuit, and run an extension to a location that better suits your installation. Also you could purchase another monitor station and have it wired up through the loop circuit, that way both audio and video can be seen in other location within the house.

  4. Our haakili doorbell is making beeping sounds intermittently in the middle of the night. It makes single beeps as if someone is viewing the camera every half hour then sometimes a series of tones that are high pitched the low pitched that last about a second or so. Have not seen any power interruptions when it is doing this. Any suggestions what could be causing this?

    1. Hi Brad, we have found that cabling can cause this issue.
Please check all connection and make sure they are sound
and clean. Also check the voltage being supplied by the
power supply. check this at the connection in the back of
the monitor station. Also make sure that the door bell
button located on the door station is not sticking in on
      the depressed position!

  5. Hi,
I have this installed and when the intercom button is pressed outside both internal units don’t show the image, just a blue screen. This just started happening. What can we do to fix it?

    1. Hi Tania, thank you for your post. This issue maybe caused by
either a faulty camera within the door station or it maybe
just a faulty connected for the video signal from the door station
      to the monitor stations.
You should check the wiring that comes from the door station all
the way down to either of the monitors! The video stream comes
across on one of these wires, but check them all.
As Haakili no longer exists you may need to check for another supplier
for the door monitor! The Haakili product changed names to DigiGuard
so look up that name as well. There maybe a retailer that could help you out!

  6. Hi I have recently moved into a place with M741W system.
I notice that the blue LED backlight is constantly on.
Is there any way I can disable the blue LED backlights?
    Thank you for your help.

    1. Hi Joel, Sorry there is no way to disable this
      back lite blue light.
If you are the current owner of the intercom.
You could open the monitor station up and
disconnect the LED. but this means opening it up
and un-solder the LED. This is the only option
      You would have.

  13. Hi had a haakilli intercom fitted 3 weeks ago by gea they can't get rid of the interference off the monitor picture. Do you have any suggestions they have changed the power supply and ran new cable between the 2 units.

    1. Hi Freddydog,

I'm unsure who GEA is, but they would have purchased your Haakili intercom from the sole Australian wholesaler for this product.

One of the biggest problems that we are seeing, is that installers do not use coax cable for the Video transmission from the door station to the monitor station.

Ask GEA if they used a dedicated coax RG59U cable for the video and Figure 8 for the power and earth. My thoughts are that they have not!

      I hope this helps.

    2. I can't see anywhere on the installation manual stating the need for coax cable.

    3. Hi Shaun,

The reason that coax should be used is to reduce to interference and ghosting that you can get within a 75 Ohm 1.0Volt video signal.

The fact that you are getting interference is the reason why it is suggested to use coax. The system works on an analogue signal that can be interfered with by other RF signals. These RF signals can be caused by your existing Cat 5 cable running to close a an AC power cable like the TPS cable used to run 240Volts!

Even the coax will still have issues with RF, and that is why even coax should not be ran to close to high voltage AC cables. But your installer should be fully aware of these issues!

The interference could also be an issue with the door station and or the monitor station. Has your installer tried to diagnose by eliminating possibilities, that maybe causing your issue? He could send a video signal down the video line (cat 5) from the door station end to see if the interference is still there, at the monitor station! He could also use a test monitor at the monitor station end to test the signal from the door station. That way you can eliminate either the door station or the monitor station.

Of cause if the interference is still there after doing both of the above, then it is your cable!

If your installer does find that either the door station or monitor station is at fault, have him replace it. If it is under 12 months old there should not be an issue.

  17. Hi there,
we had recently installed haakili m741w intercom system and than we had installed electric striker for my pedestrian gate but we can't open the door from the intercomm system.I called the person who had installed the security system and he said that you need more power for your striker.I had installed the fermax brand striker w80116. Please let me know whats the solution for this

    1. I have experienced where installers do not install a dedicated 12 Volt power Supply to power the door strike. They actually use the power from the monitor station. Also the wiring maybe incorrect. There are two contacts on your door station, these contacts are the power switch for your strike. The dedicated power supply needs to be wired as per instruction through these two contacts. You say that the strike is located in the pedestrian gate but then say you can't open the door from the intercom. Can you please clear this up as to how the system is all connected?
